Woke up at 7 am to go and see the priest and give him the paperworks... after we talked for half an hour he told me that it's better if we go to our priest in London for the paperworks.... can't believeit... why he didn't tell me before..... i was really upset! also wanted to show him the order of services but he couldn't be bother.... he told me that he will give me the samples of what he does and then we work on that.... anyway.. Dear Mike, whilst you are having fun wth your friends I am stuck with the church problems....

Plus in the evening I went to ccheck out of of the bars for the aperitivo... didn't like t :( i have to look for others....

The new list at Rinascente is ready... added a few stuff here and there.... just becasue some people made me notice the old one was pretty poor...

We have also found the wedding rings!!!

Finally I managed to drag Mike to a nice bloke in Hatton Gardens to see our wedding bands yesterday. For those who don't live in London, Hatton Gardens is a huge road not far from the City packed with Jewish jewellers... they sell wonderful diamonds and any kind of stone you might dream about.
The guy showed a couple of different shaped bands. The D-shaped and the Court shaped (not sure how you called them in Italian). The first one has kind of sharp edges whilst the second is more roundly... I think we'll go for the second one... very simple and plain. Mike is now convinced that it's not worth it to have wedding bands in platinum and we'll go for the white gold ones...
While we were there the guy showed to us the wedding band he was making for a client (we guessed she must have been Arab considering the style)... The ring was terrible and it was 1.5cm thick. You cannot even move your fingers with something like this... Plus it was full of diamonds.... UNA BELLA TAMARRATA DIREBBERO DALLE NOSTRE PARTI.. Chiara was also there and she was also a bit shocked to think people might even think to have such a band... Anyway, just a different taste.

What's left to do

As you can see, Annalisa is working very hard to get the final details sorted while I go and enjoy myself on the slopes. To my defense I have to say that the weekend away will be very hard work for me and I probably won't sleep very much and might have a lot of headache's in the morning, so it's not all fun :-)

Anyway, we're getting there. One outstanding issue is the car, so if anybody has a good suggestions where to rent a nice (old) car without making me completely broke, let me know.

Also, please send your suggestions for the music through, or post them on the website trough "lazybase" so that we have an idea of what we should ask the musician.

Here I am... it’s not that I didn’t want to write on the website but I was busy organising the wedding while Mike was having fun building the website Everything is almost ready... I will actually go to Milan this weekend to meet the priest and give him the paperwork we need for the day. Mike has his NULLAOSTA from the super-efficient Luxemburgish embassy in Rome.. it took just a couple of weeks to sort out things whilst with the Italian embassy would have taken a couple of months... Luckily he is from such an efficient (and small) country and they don’t get stuck in the organisation processes... During my weekend in Milano I will continue to organise part of the wedding weekend, whilst Mike will be hitting the slopes with his friends in Austria.. At the current stage we are looking for a nice location to organise an aperitivo on Friday evening (the day before the wedding).. just to put people together and test each-other drinking skills.. I already know that the Luxemburgish will expect to win the competition as they are used to drink litres of Diekrich beer every day... (apart from Yves who changed his habits and turned into a professional Guinness-lover). However, they might be surprised by the original Italian cocktails... I remember the results of my 30th birthday’s party in Milan... the pictures show that the Italians were still decent after 1am whilst the foreigners were definitely suffering a lot... Anyway.. I will start to check out some locations... I had plenty of help from my friends Yuri, Chiara and Valerio who gave me precious suggestions.. So, if at the end you don’t like it you can blame them :-)

Very happy people.....

We got our first gifts on our wedding list. Thanks so much, we would have never expected this. Some of the selected gifts we will use already on our honeymoon (have a guess what it was) and some others you can experience if you come to our place for dinner.
Well, still some final arrangements left, but we are getting there and with the feedback received from most of you so far, we think that everybody is looking forward to it....and so are we!!!!
Annalisa e Mike (but guess who wrote this....again)

long time no write

Apologies. I should have written more often, but with all the stress over the holidays I kind of forgot about it. I'm still waiting for Annalisa to post her first blog.
So now all the wedding lists are up and running. In London and Luxembourg they have a good an easy voucher system which will allow us to choose the items afterwards. Rinascente does not offer that unfortunately.
Yesterday we sent the invitations to the printer to get a draft and hopefully by the end of the month we will have them ready.
Over X-mas we also went to some shops to have a look at some wedding rings. They all look the same (at least to me), but it's still not easy to decide.
Now I need you guys to start sending me some ideas for the music. The list on the website serves only as an inspiration, there is still a lot that needs to be added. Our musician needs to receive a list of songs so that he can start practicing. This is especially for all the Italians....send them over (music@annaemike.com).
